SBI WhatsApp Banking Service: State-owned lender State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a WhatsApp banking service for its customers to address their banking queries. According to the bank website, customers can simply scan the QR using their mobile and avail the services.
With the launch of SBI WhatsApp banking services, SBI customers can check their account balance and mini-statement. In addition, customers can also get the information without having the need to log into the Yono App or go to the ATM for the mini statement.
SBI WhatsApp Banking Service: Here’s How to Register
If you want to register your bank account with the SBI WhatsApp banking service, you have to send an SMS WAREG A/C No (9172089XXXX) from your registered phone number. Once the registration is complete, you can use SBI’s WhatsApp banking service.
Who can register for SBI WhatsApp Banking?
Savings account, Current account, NRI accounts and proprietors of CC-OD accounts are currently enabled for SBI WhatsApp Banking.
What are the steps for registering for WhatsApp Banking?
l Visit the SBI website, https://bank.sbi where the steps for registering on WhatsApp Banking have been detailed.
l Simply scan the QR using your mobile and avail the services offered by us. You will be prompted to send “Hi” from your WhatsApp Number to +919022690226 and follow the instructions given by the Chat-Bot
Or
l Send an SMS in the following format “WAREG ACCOUNTNUMBER” to +917208933148 from your registered mobile number with us. For example, if your Account number is 123456789, then the user will send an SMS as WAREG 123456789 to +917208933148. Once this is done, follow the below-listed steps:
· If registration is successful then you will get a confirmation message on your Whatsapp linked to your registered mobile number
· Send a “Hi” from your WhatsApp Number to +919022690226 and follow the instructions given by the Chat-Bot
